How many of you have eaten your breakfast running out the door? Had lunch at your desk at work or had dinner in front of the TV and finished your meal without even realising? Has this left you feeling hungry and unsatisfied?
Most of us eat too quickly and we could all benefit from eating a bit more mindfully i.e. with intention and attention.
There are lots of different ways we can do this but here are just 3 #HUSTLEHINTS to get you started:
- If the concept seems a bit much to get your head around for all meals and snacks, we challenge you this week to eat at least one meal per day more mindfully. Consider the taste, texture and smell of the food in front of you and really enjoy your meal.
- Minimise distractions. By this we mean turn off the TV, laptop and put away your phone at mealtimes. Concentrate on what you are eating and not what is happening on social media. So forget multi-tasking. When it comes to meal times single-task and just eat.
- Put your cutlery down between each bite and swallow your food fully before having another bite.
